The MonteRosa Band mixes rock, pop, and old school Latin grooves to create energetic live performances. The band was founded in 2015 by singer/songwriter Albie Monterrosa with the vision of bringing rhythmic, feel-good music back on to the scene. "Each band member brings their own exphttps://d24wuq6o951i2g.cloudfront.net/img/events/id/248/2481671/assets/708.MonterosaLogo_VECTOR.jpgeriences to this multicultural rock band: Salvadorian, Puerto Rican, Venezuelan, Sri Lankan, Cuban and Jersey too!"
Albie, born in Queens, New York by Salvadorian parents, spent his childhood immersed in American culture with the Latino roots that his parents kept alive from El Salvador. "Music was as important to us as the food my mother cooked in our house. Elton John, the Bee Gees, Led Zeppelin, Santana, and FM radio hits, along with all of my parents Mexican, Salvadorian and Cuban music, was such an influence on me."
In 2000, Albie founded deSoL in Asbury Park, New Jersey. The perfect mixture of rock and Latino music brought deSol beyond New Jersey, and onto the world stage. deSoL enjoyed a decade of both national and international touring and radio success. deSoL disbanded in 2010, but the vision lives on. "This music is an important part of my being; it is who I am holistically. I represent so many out there. People relate to the music, and the music bonds us together."
A MonteRosa live show has been described as energetic and spiritually uplifting with dance and sweat your ass off revivals. "Watching an engaged, dancing audience full of enjoyment is what it's all about for us. The percussive drive and positive messages keep the dance floor endlessly moving."
